Incident details
An American tourist sustained a leg injury while walking the trail connecting Sfinari beach and Platanakia beach in the Kissamos area. She was unable to continue and required assistance to exit the path.
Rescue response
Thirteen firefighters deployed with six vehicles reached the injured woman roughly midway along the difficult route. They carried her to a safer location.
Support from sea
Because of the terrain, responders used a private boat to transport the woman to the harbor at Sfinari, where an ambulance from EKAV was waiting to provide medical care.
Next steps
