The Greek fire service received the alert shortly after 7pm local time. Crews quickly deployed to the Tourkovounia area of Psychiko, where flames were spreading through low vegetation.
Reinforcements brought the total to 64 firefighters, including four ground teams from the 1st EMODE unit, supported by 15 vehicles. Two helicopters were assigned for aerial support. The Psychiko municipality also sent water tankers to assist.
Real-time monitoring came from drones equipped with thermal and visual cameras operated by the national coordination centre. By 7:50pm the fire had no active front.
September 4 was rated category 4 for wildfire risk across the region. An arson investigation unit from Athens was assigned to determine the cause.
